She went into the admissions office. A gray-haired lady strolled up to the desk. "Can I help you?"
"I start school the day after Labor Day. I called this office. They told me that they would find someone to help me move into my new apartment."
The lady smiled, "Are you moving on campus?"
"No, I have an apartment off campus."
The lady's smile turned into a frown. "Sorry we can't help you." The lady walked away.
"Excuse me, m’am, I’m from out of town, I have no one to help me!"
The gray-haired lady just kept walking.
Jan went outside and sat on a park bench and cried. "L...ord, I ne...ed someone to help me. No one cares about me."
After five minutes of praying and crying, she heard church bells play a familiar tune, "What A Friend We Have In Jesus."
Jan looked up and noticed a church across the street from her school. The music inspired her to trot over and see if anyone was there.
She entered the double doors and saw a light that was on in an office to the right. She walked into it. A dark-haired lady was at the desk. "May I help you?"
"My name is Jan, I’m from out of town. I'm starting at the school across the street. I have no one to help me move some furniture into my new apartment. My parents recently died in a car accident. My school promised they would help me and they let me down. I don't know what to do. Is there anyone here that could help me? I know that this is short notice."
"Let me get the pastor, we'll see what we can do." She walked away for a few minutes.
A middle-aged man came out and shook her hand as the receptionist sat in her chair. "Hey I 'm Pastor Gary, I understand you need help moving."
"Yes, I do."
"What's you name?"
"Jan."
"Well, Jan, it just so happens we have a small men's Bible study tonight at 6:30. If you give the receptionist your name and address, we'll come over before our study and help you. How does that sound?"
Jan grinned, "Great, Thank you."
Pastor looked into her eyes. "See you at 6:30."

At: 6:30, the men showed up and moved Jan’s furniture.
After they were done, all the men gathered together in Jan's living room. "Jan, my receptionist told me that your parents died in a car accident. Is that true?"
Jan started to cry, "Y…es."
Pastor let out a deep breath. "We’re sorry to hear that. Do you know Jesus?"
Jan's frown turned into a smile. "Yes, I do."
"Praise the Lord, The good news is that Jesus, can heal the broken-hearted. He can bind up your wounds. He will also never leave you or forsake you. We want to lay hands on you and pray for you. Would that be all right?"
"Yes, I would love it if you prayed for me." Jan closed her eyes and bowed her head.
"Dear Lord, please bless Jan as she starts a new time in her life. Please help her with the loss of her parents. Give her a peace in her heart, let her know that you care about her and you're providing for her needs. In Jesus’ name. Amen."
Pastor opened his eyes and looked up at her. "Jan, I assume you haven't found a church yet. You’re welcome to come and visit ours. Our services are at 8:30 and 11 am."
Jan’s face beamed with joy. "I’ll check you out. Thanks again for your help."
The men left and Jan sat on the couch and pondered what just happened, and felt a peace that she wasn‘t alone.

Well done.
I'll comment on one sentence: "My name is Jan, I’m from out of town. This should be two sentences or you could write: My name is Jan and I'm from out of town.
Good going.
You brought glory to God. Thank you
