Thinking of the topic flowers, I began to ponder the flowers these friends have sown. The first one sown was the flower of acceptance. Becky was a co-worker who brought acceptance into my life. I met her years ago, before becoming a Christian. She was overflowing with the fruits of the Spirit and it was then that I felt accepted into the family of God myself. She was the one God had sent to show me I was accepted by Him. The flower of acceptance was freely given to me by Becky.
The next flower I was handed came from another friend who showered me with forgiveness. Along the path of life, even as Christians, we find ourselves in need of forgiveness. This friend who will remain un-named showed me that there is forgiveness after failure. This flower of forgiveness brought freedom into my life once again.
The most recent friend that my life has been graced with brought a love into my life that has been laced with joy and freedom! Thressa has been a true gift from God. She stood by me during the death of my dear mother and has remained a friend to this day who continues to shower me with bouquets of love.
The greatest Friend I have brings all three of these wonderful flowers of love, acceptance and forgiveness into my life on a regular basis. Jesus Christ sows these flowers along the side roads of my life abundantly. Proverbs 18:24b tells us that there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother (or sister, I might add). RSV
Let him shower you with bouquets of love, acceptance and forgiveness. You will never be the same again. And besides, others may need to have you be a friend that sows flowers along the sideroads of, and into, their lives.
