I looked at the topic and I had writer's block for four days!
On day five various ideas came to mind:
The Sun is yellow, The yellow dress, The Woman clothed with the Sun, Mellow Yellow, Yellow Hair, Yellow shoes etc.,etc. I also found myself singing The Yellow Rose of Texas and Snow Patrol's, Yellow.
Unfortunately, although ideas and songs were running through my mind, I couldn't focus on writing a story or a poem.
Today - the last day for submission.
I decided to skip the competition this week.
Then I thought about God and the colour yellow and I wrote the following:
Y-YOKE My yoke is easy and my burden is light. God always equips us to do what he calls us to do.
E-ETERNAL God is Eternal, He has no beginning in time and no ending.
L-LOVE God is love and since we are his creation he embraces each one of us in that love.
L-LIGHT Jesus is the light of the world. He said that if we follow him we would not walk in darkness but have the light of Life.
O-OMNIPRESENCE God is everywhere. The Psalmist said "where can I go from your spirit and where can I flee from your presence?" Also Jesus said "I am with you always till the end of time."
W-WILL The Lord's Prayer "...thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.." May my work and my relationships with others always be pleasing in your sight.
As I looked at what I had written I thanked God. In future I will let go and let God.
