I love darkness, I revel in the obscurity it affords me. I relish in the knowledge that none can detect my presence. I delight in evil deeds done in subtle secrecy. I take immense pleasure in being unnoticed until I, and only I, desire to make myself known. Impatiently searching out my prey, yet overwhelmed with great anticipation, “walking about unobserved, seeking whom I may devour.”
On the other hand, I detest light, and I loathe even more that pathetic, contemptible creature man, who so worships that light. Man, with his pitiable need of light, his feeble eyes unable to discern even his own form without some manner of illumination. How I enjoy watching him stumble towards misfortune in the impeccable black of darkness. I dotingly remember the contentment of those three long days in Egypt, basking in the luxury of the “darkness which could be felt.” Ah! But there is better than that to strive for. A time when not just his eyes are masked in black shadows, but his heart and intellect also. Spiritual darkness, the ultimate intent, the crown purpose for my being.
I detest light, for if light had not reveled himself, man would yet walk in my perfect darkness. “Let there be light” indeed. I say, let there be darkness. Let man make his own way through this existence without the support of that repugnant entity identified as light. Let us see how thankful he is in the black I know so well. Let us see how he worships the Almighty when he can‘t see at all. Let us see how man fares when that “hedge about him” is removed. When the “light of the world” is not seen for him to follow after.
Light has stated in that obscure book he declares as “Holy” that “darkness cannot overcome the light.” Well, we will soon see about that. If it was not for his cheating me at the tomb, I would have won the battle two thousand years ago. “I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God.” My army strengthens, we increase, we intensify, we become legion. We will gather for the battle, “the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.” You will see. All will see my darkness triumph victoriously.
Dragon indeed. I proclaim that this serpent will prevail. There is more on my side than his. There is more darkness in this universe than light. There is more wrong than right, more evil than good. In addition, I know man, he will join my ranks. He is but a hypocrite after all, the pupils of eyes gives him away, they are each and everyone black as heavy oil, for his eyes are but a window to his soul. I know man, “their deeds are evil. Everyone that doeth evil prefers the darkness rather than light,” just as I do. And as for those that want to do good. Well, man is so easily deceived, I can mimic the light, I can be “transformed into an angel of light.” There will more of those wretched humans on my side than his.
I will go utterly unnoticed, until I, and I only, desire to make myself known. I bow to none, I
