Medical world suggested not to take risk on the life of the mother and the relatives preferred only the safety of the mother.
My dad just bowed his head t the will of God.
In spite of all expectations, I was born on this earth.
Arrival of a Premature Baby
I was born two months before my due. From the very first day of my birth I was a sickly child making others around me expecting my last minute. I was destined to live only days and months. Some of the womenfolk even whispered, “Is this child born as an ill omen or because of the fate of generations?”
In spite of all their calculations and expectations, God led me to my adulthood.
Loss of my Mom
I didn’t know the warmth of my mom. I didn’t taste the nectar of life and love from my mom’s breast. I couldn’t enjoy the love of other folks who looked at me as an unlucky creature. Sick as my mom had been, she couldn’t take care of me or caress me. God plucked my mom earlier, leaving me to the world to look after. In spite of the neighbor’s remarks that I swallowed my mom with my ill-luck, I fought to grow up into my adulthood.
Along with Surgeries and Medications
My heart was operated six times which meant that my soul and body were under the trial of partition. Drugs and other medications traveled throughout my body tapping all the cells saying, “Life is green still.” Nurtured by the pills and tonics, I grew up into my adulthood.
Step by Step I Climbed Up
Only at five I learned to toddle. Only at six I learned to grunt words. Only at seven I learned the letters. Though all said that I should attend a special school, my dear dad had hope that I will be alright in the regular school. All presumed that I am going back in my steps towards my last day. But my dad taught me to hold fast the ‘rod and staff’ of that Great Father Who led me always down the ‘green pastures’. ‘He led me beside the still waters’ and I reached my adulthood.
A Surprising Adulthood
When I put my hands in my Dad’s hands, goodness and kindness followed me all days of my life. Dwelling I the house of the Lord, I grew up tall and passed my studies successfully to the surprise of all those who knew my history. The lord who has a plan for me even before I was conceived still protects and guides me through the days of my adulthood surprising even to me.
To you, O lord, I lift up my soul. Those who hope in you will never be humbled. I always sing to the glory of your name and proclaim you glorious praise.
