The stages of growing up?
Have you ever taken,
Time to stop and think?
Most of life is full of,
Drinking the “adult” cup.
Then once you have arrived there,
It’s will you swim or sink?
It’s like you’re taken captive,
By those years without delay.
You’re forced into a lifestyle,
Of caring for yourself.
You wake up every morning,
Then go to earn your pay.
The things you really want to do,
Just end up on the shelf.
You try to make the most of life;
That ladder to the top.
It takes you years to get there,
And then you’re all worn out.
For many who achieve it,
Is when their life will stop.
And then they have forgotten,
What life is all about.
So the answer is to focus,
With your heart, soul and mind.
Instead of looking inward,
It’s time to look above.
It’s only through Christ Jesus,
Contentment you will find.
Then knowing you’re forgiven,
Forever in His love.
