The earth is full. Water
Settling over valleys and volcanoes;
Overwhelming foxholes and anthills.
All crevices, cavities, cradles –
Unvoided.
The cups that millions have raised,
Upon millions of schemes now contained
By this element older than the earth.
The dove rests
Upon the hollow of a hand,
His beak empty:
The earth is washed
Of wicked songs and secret lusts;
Engorged of whispers, curses and cries.
Imprints and footholds smoothened,
Tracks and traces wiped out.
Wine and blood diluted,
A new element undone upon the earth.
The man looks out onto the horizon;
Waves of heaven’s tears undulate unbound
Under an infinite tearless sky.
He looks into his boat:
Tar and wood groaning under
The weight of hope;
A womb bursting with patience.
He stands on the cusp of everything and nothing.
He opens his palms, waits upon his Creator
And the completion of a new covenant.

Well done!
Can I think of any other adjectives to describe this? Too many to count; this is absolutely magnificent!
