And the undeniable role you played.
Your heart hurts so bad
And your spirit is oh so sad.
Through tear filled eyes you conclude:
I can’t change it.
Now you can’t decide what to do
With the two choices in front of you.
Whether to chain the mess onto today
Or to allow the mess to fade away.
Through time in Scripture and prayer you realize:
I can’t dwell on it.
You determine to make it right
Suddenly the burden seems light.
Though you still have far to go
You’ll see it finished, you know.
For through His Spirit Jesus says to you
You are not alone in it.
Now you have victory in sight
Wait--a doubt comes into the light.
Will this mess forever mark me
As a failure, oh can it be?
Triumphantly from His throne Jesus declares
I HAVE OVERCOME IT!

How often we need to be reminded to "forget what is behind and press forward".
