The dismal pitter patter of the rain drops
Set my head to pounding out a sad complaint
Why! Why! Why! This is something I cannot change
The noon approached gray and wet
The rain now made huge puddles out of drops
Instead of banquet tables I should serve fish bait
All my guests are arriving, yet the weather I cannot change
The train of my white dress is truly wet
The muddy puddles of slush splattered me with drops
The rows of opened umbrellas has soured this date
His eyes are laughing at the circumstances we cannot change
We speak our vows even dripping wet
We keep hoping for the rainbow between the drops
Wedding pictures our photographer says should wait
Now I am tickled at the circumstances I cannot change
Our guests now in the receiving line are all wet
Hugs and kisses are splattered with drops
People all keep saying the refrain I hate
It may be no use but this I can change
The skies have spilt leaving my day wet
The love we share the rain won’t stop
We won’t cry our eyes are dry its just rain we hate
Besides it’s a day we have no wish to change.
