I couldn’t believe my ears. Thoughts raced through my mind. I had listened to this young man for over a year. I trusted him. I believed him to be a good Christian, a man of God and a very good preacher. I have felt God’s spirit before when he spoke.
I put down my razor and headed for the living room. Being hard of hearing I wanted to make sure I heard him right.
Thinking back I remember listening to Dr. Charles Stanley each Sunday morning as I got ready for Church. Brother Stanley was a man of God and a superb Minister. After moving I was disappointed not being able to listen to him in the time frame before leaving for Church.
I remembered searching channels learning a young television Evangelist was on each Sunday during that time frame. After hearing him speak it became a Sunday ritual. I would listen to Brother Joel Olsten each Sunday prior to leaving for Church.
Upon reaching the living room I turned up the volume on the television just in time to hear Brother Olsen repeat, “God did not die for just your sins, he died on the cross for everyone’s sins.” Jesus waits with outstretched hands for ALL who will to come to the throne of grace. The invitation is open to all.
An unprecendented peace swept over me. A cool sweet smell hung in the air like I have never experienced, a gentle reminder that God is still on the throne. I felt suspended in the air with my feet not touching the floor, an experience you will not soon forget. I never wanted it to leave. In my mind I heard the voice, “Be still and know that I am God”.
Suddenly there is a very familar female voice slowly drawing me away from this special place I never want to leave.
“Honey, you better finish getting ready. It’s almost time to leave for Church………..
