Left alone it spits and sputters. Its fire is dangerous and unpredictable.
Its essence flows down like tears and hardens, misshaping the core.
Its resulting shadows are harsh to its surroundings. Its black unattractive
remains are left behind. Its waste, mourned for what should have been.
BUT add a little nurturing.
Like igniting it from a strong source, trimming its wick, sheltering it from
strong breezes and respecting its true nature. Support it with a strong
foundation. Nudge it gently left or right to focus direction.
THEN it evens out.
The light becomes bright. The heat becomes warmth. The shadows become
a glow. The allure becomes far reaching. The presence becomes reflected,
lingering even after its end.
But enough of this candle elucidation.
I must try to understand my Saviors task to me.
Matthew 28:19
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them
in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”.
