I know I'm always saying, " Stand Still so I can tie your shoes!"
"Stand still so I can love on you!"
"I can't fix the problem if you don't stand still!"
I was struck by a beautiful sight in my Bible study as I was doing it in the stillness of an empty house;a rare moment to be alone with GOD.
There were moments when GOD commanded whole armies to stand still and watch the victory be won.
There were also moments when JESUS stood still to heal the crowd. He even stood still to acknowledge someone's touch in a pressing crowd instead of moving on.
I couldn't help but think about other times when He chose to stand still.
When He stood on a rocking boat and calmly said to a raging sea, "Stand Still!"
When He was found in a garden where He often went to pray. The angry mob came with swords to haul Him away, and were struck by His resolve to stand still while He was bound.
He was sentenced to die for my crime as He stood still to let the prophecy be fulfilled.
Prayer:
Help me, oh KING, to learn not to be anxious and fretting about what I can not control! Help me to learn that I can only receive Your peace when I make a choice to just stand still!
