On Monday, August 27, 2007, one of my Christian girlfriends, also my roommate, gave me a word that the Lord has given her during this transitional time in my life. In early June 2007, I, along with another colleague, was let go of a job before the after school program ended. Since then my former employer has not release my wages due me, but decide to have their attorney send a letter stating that the company seek to recover over $20,000 for their loss of funding. With the false allegations towards me plus monies I don’t have, I sought an attorney to address these “illegal” claims.

I couldn’t believe the heart and soul I’ve invested in working for this employer to enhance their after school program to now being stabbed in the back. Although my attorney filed a claim in which a court date has been set for the judge to hear both sides, I’m anxious of what the outcome may bring. The enemy continues to hurl doubts in my mind of “what if”, “you won’t succeed”, “there’s no hope”; however, I continue to denounce them by meditating and speaking God’s word.

As I came home later in the evening, my girlfriend told me that the Lord has given her a word for me found in Numbers 14: 9, 24, and 35 in the King James Version.
14:9
Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence [sic] is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not.

14:24
But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land where into [sic] he went; and his seed shall possess it.

14:35
I the LORD have said, I will surely do it unto all this evil congregation that are gathered together against me: in this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die.

What caught my attention is the last part of verse 9, “fear them not”. I was made aware that these individuals who owns the company has a major influence and social ties with people in the *community, but the Lord said, “Fear them not.” Although my financial situation looks bleak, God continues to said, “Fear them not.” My girlfriend continues to share that they (your former employer) are bread for you, meaning, they will be defeated. Their defence (Hebrew meaning, their shadow), is departed from them which represent that they have lost God’s protection and favor due to their injustice and immorality. She goes on to encourage me that the Lord will bring me out of this situation and recognize that they not against you but the Lord.

Whatever the outcome may be, I continue believe God for the victory as well as his continue mercy and grace over those that would cause me harm. I’m grateful to those who continues to encourage me as I stand firm on Isaiah 41:10:
“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
