Topic: Happy (07/12/07)
Hidden bush retreat, secure, rosy cup and saucered
Woodfire warm, with pungent wool smelling rooms.
Yet, the birds and God are watching around here
He shook this house last night to end all cozy sleeping.


Thunder roll and strike of blue-hot sizzle
Heart stopping shock and close the curtain over.
It struck me too, to listen. To listen hard
To the wind and God as they were deeply speaking.


Now day stills, in anticipation of the sun,
Clean air dispels dark and a penitential mind.
A realm of forgiveness is rapturously entered
The soul is freed and carried on a upward soaring wing.


This joy is overtaken by a dawn roundelay of birds
God’s coming is as brilliant as the shining, rising sun.
Earthly garden beauty is shaping like a heaven
In such happy response is all made vibrantly good.

You have a real gift with words- a true wordsmith: keep writing.
My own poetry seems to have been re-energised through regular contemplative prayer a la Merton/ Nouwen etc..
