Facet as defined in the Merriam-Webster Dictionary is a small plane surface of a cut gem. Reflecting on reading from a Christian perspective, gives truth to this definition. Some would even say reading is a gem. And that would also be true.
Without a shadow of doubt, reading transcends cultures, countries, time, and economic status. The importance of reading is essential whether you are the president or a commoner. Reading like music can educate, encourage, reveal, entertain, inspire and much more. Through the venue of reading one can travel to practically anywhere in the world. Truly amazing!
Reading can empower each one of us in many ways. It could be as simple as putting a shelf together. Or it can be as great as salvation. Gems are quite precious. Diamonds, emeralds, rubies, to name a few, are unique gems revealing unique qualities. Much can be said about the process of uncovering a gem.
With reading, to receive the gem requires sifting the words to understand and receive what is there for you. Continue to read and read to understand, to receive what is there for you.
Reading a small plane surface of a cut gem.
