I praise You that You have fearfully and wonderfully made my brother in Your image. I praise You for the plans You have to prosper him and give him hope. Lord, You alone have deposited in him a selfless desire to risk his own life in order to save others. You have given him the divine qualities of compassion and courage equipping him to enter burning buildings with a purposeful mission to save lives.
Please forgive me for my own resentful and unforgiving heart towards him and my inability to see him as You see him. I thank You for this opportunity to view him as Your child, one who needs rescue from the fiery flames that seek to destroy him.
Thank You that You have guided his steps to find his purpose in serving others as a firefighter. You have never forsaken him or left his side as You helped him reach this goal. Thank You that You have delivered him from many financial, health and emotional adversities. Although the god of this age has blinded his mind from seeing the glory of the gospel, your fervent desire is that he should not perish but find eternal life.
In much the same way he stands at the threshold of a burning building, completely dependent on Your power and mercy to save lives, I am now knocking on the door of Heaven asking for mercy upon my brother.
I ask You to establish a hedge of protection around him from the dangers he faces each day. When the bell in the firehouse rings, instill in him a fear of You alone, O Lord, so Your angels will encamp around him. Let him not be fearful of men and the challenges he faces. Protect his family as well; give them peace when he is called to duty.
Thank you, Lord, for you are faithful to always meet each of us exactly where we are in this journey of life. I beseech You, Lord, to meet my brother in the blazing flames, as he stands in the shadow of death. With compassion for him, open the eyes of his understanding to see the real fire which entangles him. What will he gain by rescuing others from deadly fires if he himself is destroyed by the fires of hell? Snatch him from this inferno by revealing the truth of Your Word. You love my brother with such an everlasting love that You gave Your only begotten Son so that if he believes in Him, he will have eternal life.
Lord, on that Day of Judgment, when he stands before You and You look upon him with eyes like blazing fire, I pray You will see him covered in the Lamb’s blood and You will call his name from the Lamb’s Book of Life.
I offer up all these prayers in the precious name of Your Son, Yeshua
