Never has there been a time when man did not work at something. Even in Scripture, God recognized that there should be a time to work and then a time to rest after. God gives man the ability to earn a livelyhood as a result of his work. However,God does not intend that man lie fallow in furthering the work of His Kingdom.
He is quite clear in the NT when He declares in The Great Commission, "Go ye into all the world......".
God-given talents and work go hand in hand. Fortunate is the man who can use that talent as his work and consequently finds true happiness. Even more fortunate is the man who uses his God-given talent in furthering God's work on this great planet Earth, for then, he is truly blessed.
I suspect that this is when "work" might appear not to be work.
God has given each of us some inate talent. My challenge to you is to take inventory of what that talent might be in you. When you have identified it, then expand on it, develop it, nurture it and use it. See for yourself if you are not more content and more satisfied with your life.
