I was in the pastor’s study when the phone rang. After the pastor hung up, he looked at me and said “you need to go home.” What is happening I asked?
Go home now was his reply.
Now I live in the country and I am about 15 minutes from the church. As I was going home I passed my husband. Where is he going I wondered? What is going on? I pulled into the driveway and my world then should have fallen apart had god not given me the inner strength and walked with me for the next few days. My daughters were standing in the drive way when I arrived home. Don’t go in the house I was told.
Ok now I was really starting to get concerned. You need to go home. Don’t go into the house. What is going on, I asked. Where is your Dad going?
Mom, my oldest daughter said, your son has shot himself. Dad has taken him to the hospital. You don’t want to go inside.
Here is where god’s inner strength came in. I did go inside. I saw the rifle lying in the floor and blood was all over. I grabbed what I needed and sent my girls to my in-laws house. I took off to the hospital which again is a 15 minute drive that seemed like hours.
You say and where is the inner strength? God gave it to me in every step I took that night. When I got to the hospital I was met by my husband who told me what had happened. My son did not want to see me and since he was over 18, he had the choice to deny me any visitation at all.
My son had been talking, off and on all day, to our pastor. He was going through a very messy divorce. He had also been drinking all day. He chose to take his life after he had told the pastor that he was going to give god another chance. He stuck the barrel of the gun in his mouth and pulled the trigger. As he was pulling the trigger, he leaned his head back and the bullet went through his nose. He was the one who had called the pastor after he had pulled the trigger. See my pastor already knew what was happening and was praying.
Inner Strength was seeing the doctor that came out from the ER was someone from our church, the sheriff that had to go out to the house was from our church, when he was admitted to the hospital the charge nurse was from our church, and my husband for taking care of the house.
God walked with me during that time and as instead of my son giving God another chance, God gave my son another chance. He is not married again at this time but he is now in a relationship with another lady and they have 3 children. He goes to church and is raising his family up as Christians.

The paragraphs should have been separated, easier to read I believe. Also, I would have capitalized God everytime you mentioned our Lord.
Thank you for sharing your life, may God bless your family.
