The vase sits elegant.
A detail design
On a fragile body
Of bone china.
It’s graceful beauty always appropriate for display.
She presents the tulips, the freesia, the daisies
And roses.
She never tires of their exquisite show.
The heavenly bouquet requires again the strength of her structure.
The heavier the stems and bulbs
The more her stamina is revealed.
A lasting fragrance lingers
But sometimes even her owner wonders.
The violent winds lift and cast the
Flowers, as if they were merely paper
Another group to mourn.
A prayer of thanksgiving for these gentle creations.
Capturing the heart
The colors, the beauty, the complex creation
Had man been given the assignment
To create them from nothing,
Surely he would falter.

Fragile yet strong.
The darkest clouds cast shadows
Upon it’s delicate shoulders
The vase remains eloquent
A million minutes pass
No beauty to display
No life to support.
The sun shines through the glass,
And her skin is translucent white
Oh, how brittle she seems
Held by threads of porcelain.
Sometimes even her owner wonders,
“Will she break?”
