Space...the final frontier. What a familiar line from a very familiar television show. I can hear Captain James T. Kirk with his breathy voice quoting this phrase in my sleep. It is oh so familiar, especially to the "Trekies".
Star Trek was on television from 1966-1969 and Gene Roddenberry created this space galaxy travel show. I have always been a fan of Star Trek;
I don't know why; the show is rather far-fetched and silly. However, I just love watching the different space creatures, the outrageous plots, and the infamous Mr. Spock.
Kirk really didn't have a clue though - did he? What is the Final Frontier?
It's a much different picture than the Star Trek show envisioned.
We won't reach the Final Frontier until we pass from this life to our heavenly life. This life can become so complicated with our jobs, families and our own personal agendas. We make everything so hectic and confusing.
Death doesn't end everything though. It does, however, bring us to the Final Frontier. Are you living your life in a way that gets you ready for that "Final Frontier"?
"Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed." (I Corinthians 15:51 - NIV)
