Oh, man! Dog mess on my shoe? Who didn't clean that- Uh . . . oh, well.
I'd rather be here than at home with my sister's feet. Ever had your nostrils quiver? Now, I like whipping my sister at basketball, but with odor production like that, she better stay still.
Ahhgg! I left my ball at . . . .
But I'm going on. Want to know what my mom's making for supper tonight? Stroganoff, synonymous with skedaddle. Mom says it ends with -off because people can't wait to fork it off their plate. Yeah, into the trashcan. I think it's a warning to keep the gunk off my tongue. And to think that she could've used that meat to make hamburgers.
I'm getting hungry. I should've grabbed something before I left. Here's that peppermint preacher gave me.
Well, at least I won't have to put up with dad forcing me to scoot all the way down the second row at church. If ever there was a sin, sitting before preacher is it. Something wet landed on my nose last Sunday. I could've gone forward that day. Good thing for preacher that I've got self-control. I wonder if preacher set up the ping pong table this evening. Maybe I'll go to the church and see if-
I can't do that. He'll take me home.
I'll just keep walking. At least I won't have to go to anymore family reunions. You would think that choosing between the water park or cheek squeezing would be easy. Then, why do we always go to the reunion? Dad always says that I have a pool in the back yard, but he doesn't care that I risk my life diving into a three footer. When I get into a pool, I want more than wet toes.
Was that thunder? Yep. And those are rain drops. Whoa! And that was lightning.
I'm . . . uh . . . going on. At least, I won't have to go to school anymore. Fractions have split! Science has metamorphosed! History is in the past! English has run on! What else?
Recess.
Lunch.
I'm hungry.
It's getting dark.
Wow, that hill made my legs feel like jelly.
Oooh! Jelly! Sounds good.
What was that noise?
Oh, well. I'm . . . uh . . . not afraid. I'm glad. No more parents! No more sister! No more teachers! I'm all alone!
I'm all alone. I . . . I . . . I . . . .
I'm going home.
