Previous Challenge Entry (Level 1 – Beginner)
Topic: PHONE (11/10/16)
Providence or luck
When my wife called
bidding me home
for she just fainted

Didn't realise how serious
till she reached the hospital
diagnosed as a stroke
needed to operate her brain

Stayed in ICU
for twenty five nights
darkest period of life
totally caught off guard

Things aren't the same
for her and family
she lost most memory
and bodily functions

I am thankful
she isn't getting worse
but day by day improves
it cheers my heart and spirit

Did God know what happened
Was it too hard for Him to handle
Did He have a divine plan
I think I should ask such questions

Is it too late to ask
these questions
"Rest reassured, I'm still in control"
declared the Alpha and Omega

Events seem bleak
but He's on the throne
despite the cross and dark sky
He went on to save the world

Help me to be Joseph
"You meant evil but God meant good"
May I ipronounce this in faith
"Bad happenings but fine outcome!"

Glad to see you are writing again, Caleb. I think your poem would have placed higher if it was more on topic. Even though the news was shared over the phone, the story did not center around the phone itself.
