A Cute little blond girl in her pretty pink party dress looked up at me and said, “Are they fake? I was Hugs the Clown entertaining at her 4th birthday party and she was looking at my long rainbow eye lashes. I answered her,”No they are artificial” and she said, “Oh, OK” as if that explained it. I always got a kick out of that reaction.
Some years ago I tried to be a red head I would say, “I am naturally a redhead, I naturally do it once a month.” I personally wanted it to look natural. But there are those that look artificial coloring their hair black, trying to look younger. Some go out of their way to have “fake” color with most any color under the rainbow!
I have always thought it was interesting that when a real flower is so beautiful, we say it looks artificial because it is so perfect. With an artificial flower the compliment is the opposite, it's so perfect it looks real. Another area that to me is not real is “Reality shows”. How can you be natural and real when there is a film crew following you around ever where? One of the most artificial things I have seen on TV, is two people getting married that have never met, letting someone else pair up the couple. Even though they are not paying for the fancy wedding or honeymoon in great places, when they start to get to know each other there are big surprises and they are not the match they thought it would be. People must be desperate to be married to go through this and are willing to be filmed. I would not want a stranger to pick out my mate.
As an entertainer I do put on a clown face and costume, we know that is for entertainment, and enjoy it. But have you met a person with a fake or artificial smile, you know it is not genuine? None of us like those that are phony, putting on airs, pretending to be nice to butter up the boss or trying to get favors. Children are good at that, “Dad if I mow the grass, can I borrow the car?” or “Please, please I promise to clean my room if you get me that candy.”
I believe we all put on a mask, that we are not what we put on every day. When asked, “How are you?” we say, “Fine” even if things are not fine at all. One of my Pastors used to say, “I am praising God anyway” when asked how he was, I like that and use that myself.
Of course we don't want to tell everyone all our problems. But there is someone you can, you can tell Him the deepest fears, needs, cares, even all your troubles. This person has been where you have been was mistreated, misunderstood, forsaken, lies told about Him and tempted as we are. He lived as a human but never sinned like you and me. His name is Jesus, the son of the living God.
I thought I was a “nice” person not like “bad” people doing bad things. But I wanted to know the truth, stop pretending I was fine when I wasn't, and stop feeling like a failure. It took many years but I finally realized I can't fix me on my own, I surrendered my life to the Lord Jesus, admitted I was a sinner and asked Him to save me and be the Lord of my life. Each day we must seek him, read His Word to grow in His grace.
When you are ready take off that mask that hides all that hurt, pain, fears, shame and disappointments just call on Him there is never a busy signal. You can't be fake, pretend or try to fool Him, He knows you better that you know yourself. He loves you more than you know, give Him your life and find joy, peace, hope and never be alone or artificial again.

I liked that you started out with a real story to share. It gave me a sense of your personality. I would suggest you use body language too. Also remember to start a new paragraph each time someone new speaks. This is an example of how I might edit this:
A cute little blonde (blonde for girls, blond for boys) girl, crinkled her nose and pointed to my rainbow eyelashes. “Are they fake?"
Chuckling, I squatted down so I could look into her eyes. "Nope, they are part of my costume. I'm just pretending to be Hugs the Clown."
She reached out and touched them and then twirled her finger around my crazy wig. "Oh, okay. Is your rainbow hair fake too?"
Smiling, I nodded. I always get a kick out of little kids' reactions.
That's just a quick example to show you what I mean. You might do it differently, but I find it's easier to understand an example. My favorite part was the reality TV section. You made some great points, and your sense of humor made me snicker more than once. In fact, that section was so good, I might suggest that you just focused on that and extended it with examples, dialog, and body language.
As a natural redhead, I had to laugh at that part too. I hated it as a kid, but now that I can appreciate it, it's not as red as it used to be. God has a wonderful sense of humor. I sense you get that too and appreciate it. Keep writing. You have some amazing ideas.
