Topic: Like a Fish Out of Water (10/24/13)
Sometimes I feel like a fish out of water. I yearn and search for God to show me his will constantly. It is as if my prayers are bouncing off the ceiling. For years I have been gasping for breath as to what I am here for and what I am to do with my life. God must have a plan; I just wish He would tell me what that is. I struggle to keep my head out of the fog. It gets thicker and heavier. Idle hands are not my strong point. I feel like the fish that is still alive taken from its home and left to struggle for each breath. Suffocating in the sun and struggling to stay alive.

“Throw me back into the water so I can find my way,” the fish is saying with each gasp. That is exactly how I feel. God please send me a lifeline. I do not know which way to go. I am burdened with idleness and it compresses my chest into thinking I am having a heart attack. Anxiety builds and I search for answers to only find confusion. This cannot be from God. God is not the author of confusion. This must be from Satan. He is keeping me from my destiny. What do I do? I reach out to God. I cry and pray. I am stuck and the life of me is getting sucked out of me like a leech on my skin. The future is all I have as the present is breathless, stagnant and disappointing. To Jesus I look and see a future I have always wanted. He promises keys to a mansion in Heaven. I look forward to that day I receive my keys. But until then I must work for Him. God help me to find my way. Throw me back into the sea so I can fish for you. Guide me and help me do your work for the rest of my life. Take away this sensation of feeling like a fish out of water. Breathe life back into me and make me whole and successful. Forgive me for my whining and fill me with life and love. Throw my sins into the sea of forgetfulness and help me move onward and upward.

This piece is like a Psalm of David crying out to God. The inner conflict is obvious and troubling. I pray God sees you through. Keep writing.
