Those whispers of the wisps
Woven across the mountaintops,
Fingers that reach for my breath
Is it Your hand
That takes brilliance
And lavishes it upon the
Land’s farthest end?
O come, then dear Artist-
Touch with fire
And brighten into flame
Past hours of dark left behind
O Lover, paint orange in the sky
Kiss the expanse
Written with coming glory
O your canvas to captivate me
Forever wipe the tears
From stains on unfinished art
Casting them to the wide expanse
These sorrows to be borne new stars
O bear this heart
Which hurts so madly
And hold it up to the dawn’s first glow
For the message to be spoken there
Grip the brush
Broad strokes to cover the night
Gentle to bring the beauty of
Your masterpiece
O Lover, paint orange in the sky
The passion that draws the lines
Of every poem
And calls across the snowed peaks
Cause the past to now fade away
Preparing to awake from slumber
The hope of tomorrow
Where o distant lovers, is your canvas now displayed?
O, the depth of the ache
When you woo me in the skies
When you light upon my soul
O Lover, paint orange in the sky
