Topic: Twilight Years of Life (07/02/09)
I want to grow old with you. The time we have had is just not enough. I have a dream of our twilight years. When our time on this earth is waning. We watch the sun as it dips into the ocean’s horizon. The deep, rich reds, purples, and golden colors of the sunset make the evening sky breathtaking.

The water laps across our feet and the sand squishes between our toes as we walk hand in hand across the beach, much as we have walked hand in hand through this life. I see our children and grandchildren grown, with exciting lives of their own.

Deeply I breath in the ocean breeze and listen to the crash of the waves. The peace of the evening wraps around us as we reminisce of days and years gone by.

The day we married I cried. Not because I was unhappy or scared, but because I knew that I was doing exactly what God wanted me to do. It was the first time in a very long time I knew that I was in the center of His will. I knew that we would grow old together. And I knew that it would not be easy. Even the times of trial we now look on with a faint fondness as we see how He used those times to refine and purify us and our faith in Him.

Our struggles have been many. Heartbreaks, there have been a few. But as I look forward to our twilight years, I know that there is no one that I would have rather taken this journey with, because I want to grow old with you.

This reads like a heartfelt tribute of a wife to her husband, very lovely and well done. I liked the shortness of it and the simplicity that makes it realistic. Good stuff.

This was so loving and tender with your choice of words to convey how marriage should be lived--in unity as God intended. Great--especially for beginner level.
