The Reality Of Our Paradox!

Isn't the paradox the fact the Christians have been called to be empty and full at the same time.

Growing up in Africa, often in lands so full of resources and potentials such that it can be said that it is flowing with milk and honey and a people so deprived - empty; you would wonder where God is in the midst of such poverty. you cant help but come to terms with the concept of full and empty.

But surely it is not possible to be full and empty at the same time...? or is it not the case that some may have lost their mind and placed us in this dilemma. for such a call as paradoxical as this will surely lead us to confusion and an identity crisis. I dare say that this may be the cause of the huge identity crisis into which Christianity has been plunged. where the world have become too 'churchy' and the church has become too worldly!

"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." Galatians 2:20

This verse completely deciphers this call... for we have been rid of the world through our crucifixion on the cross, and have been made salts of the earth to act as both a preservative and a seasoning. preservative in the sense that the holy spirit lives in us and will lead us into all truth. this life in the truth automatically presents us as bacons of hope in the world a rallying point and seasoning in the sense that we have been called to influence the outcome of our generation just as salt will influence the outcome of the taste of any meal.

"Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price" Isaiah 55:1

The holy spirit has been given to everyone that will freely to help us navigate every day the reality of the complexities involved in our masters call.... Be empty and full!

Indeed, the concept of being both empty and full can be confusing! While we empty the worldly thoughts from our hearts, we are filled with the Holy Spirit.

Just a quick tip - watch your capitalization at the beginning of sentences. I'm also assuming that we're to be "beacons" and not "bacon," though "bacon" would indeed add to our seasoning. ;)
