my Lord above.
I remain with You,
held captive
by Your love.
Awake in me,
the longing to see,
the past forgotten,
and hope to be.
You are my Savior,
my Christ to me.
How dimly lit,
my day can be,
without Your light,
aglow in me.
I seek You out,
and hope to find,
Your precious gift,
of light is mine.
Forgive me Lord,
for I do not know,
within this darkness,
the poor seeds I sow.
Upon the break
of day that comes,
Your sweet sorrow
has turned to sun.
Ignite in me,
a heart so true,
that in my sorrow,
Your light shines through.
Oh my Lord
and Savior,
my Christ,
the child in me,
has come from night.
Only in Your love,
do I find
a solace,
a beacon,
a hope divine.
Your touch of peace,
upon my mind,
so gentle,
so patient,
the hope of salvation,
that calms all time.
For time is lost to You,
above,
for in the light of darkness,
is love.
