The journey we are about to take is good although on the way, we may encounter bad sections which I believe will equip us with wisdom. Let me draw the map first so that we will know our destination.
I will define the two words good and bad.
GOOD- to be fresh, fit, full, cheerful, to treat a person well, benefit, requite, ripen, bestow on, deal bountifully, reward, yield, recover, kindness, pity beauty, favor, mercy, godly, honesty, virtuous, worthy, having desirable positive qualities, morally admirable, superior to the average, exerting force or influence, not forged.
BAD-evil, adversity, worse, sad, affliction, calamity, misery, distress, sore, sorrow, trouble, wicked, wretchedness, wrong, naughty, mischief, noisome, rotten, worthless, corrupt, hurtful, disease, grievous, harm, depraved, ill, malice ,guilt devil.
The reason I have gone to this length is because the two words have shaped mans life since creation. The two are powerful words and there is a continuous competition between them as to which one will control our lives.
Let’s find out the origin of the two words; first understand that words are spiritual_ by this I mean they came from a Spirit being. God is a Spirit John 4:24(KJV)”God is a Spirit and they that worship Him, must worship him in spirit and truth”.
God is the first person to speak the word Good in Genesis 1:3-4(KJV)”and God said let there be light and there was light, [4]and God saw that the light was GOOD and God divided the light from the darkness.”.
You know somebody by the words he speaks meaning that words portray someone’s “character”, so in Psalms 145:9 (KJV) the bible says that “the Lord is Good to all and His mercies are all over His works”. You noticed that the two words (good and bad) are reciprocal or parallel of one another.
The word BAD also originated from a spiritual being who is Satan the ‘devil’. How did this come about? In Genesis 2:8-9(KJV) the bible says “[8]and the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the Man who he had formed.[9]And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food. The tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil”. Now go further in chapter 3 of Genesis and see how Satan deceived Adam and Eve to eat the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Satan slightly perverted what God said and produced his own words, so when man obeyed Satan he gained knowledge of good and evil (bad) and the two systems have been working for or against men. Bad is a perversion of good.
God created man as a free moral agent, we have the power to decide whether good will exert influence in our lives or bad will do the same. When we choose good it produces life or blessing, when we choose bad it produces death or cursing.
How do we go about making choices, God in his word has given us clear instructions. In Psalms 34: 12-13 the bible says “what man is there who desires life and loves many days that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking guile” (KJV). We make choices in life by the words we speak. The power that drives life or death in our lives is located in our tongues, (Proverbs 18:21) (KJV)
To be specific, you are a total sum of the words you have spoken or others have spoken about you, and you agreed with them. God wants us to speak words he has spoken already so that we can experience the good that he is. Just to quote a few of his words.
Proverbs 13:2 (KJV)”A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence.” Psalms 103:5(KJV)”who satisfieth your mouth with good things, so that your youth shall be renewed like the eagles”.
When words are spoken they are deposited in our hearts, that’s the place where they are empowered, and then when we speak them out they go ahead and create the world around us. Proverbs 4:23(KJV) it says “keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life”. Choose to speak good!

I always advise people to avoid using definitions or thesaurus examples in a story--especially when writing about such familiar concepts. Your readers almost certainly know what good and bad are...getting right to your point would allow you more words for examples and exposition.
