You lay your head down to sleep. Two hours into a good dream and BAM! You’re awakened by the sound of crying at the top of their lungs. You drag yourself out of the bed. You walk half blind to the kitchen and prepare a bottle. (Running hot water from the tap works as well as microwaving or boiling water on the stove.) You walk back down the hall fully awake but still drowsy. You walk into the room and pull the small helpless crying at the top of their lungs person from the crib. Finding a comfortable seat anywhere in the house is easy because you learned where it was during the six weeks you had off from work.
You set there and look down at the miracle in your arms. You wonder what you were thinking when God blessed you with this wonderful gift wrapped in a blanket and sucking down milk as if he were a NASCAR driver on a pit stop. Ever since this little being came into your life, you have missed out on going out with friends. You have had clothes ruined. You haven’t been able to set still for more than five minutes, and you’ve lost all sense of reality since you can’t manage to get more than a couple of hours of straight sleep each night. Your clothes have been ruined by spit-up, puke, and the poppy diapers that decide to explode in your hands. You feel like you’re on a downward slide toward a nothingness that you cannot escape.
But then you remember, “25She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. 26 She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. 27 She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. 28 Her children arise and call her blessed;” (Proverbs 31:25-28a) You feel your life come back up from the pit that you were digging yourself into as you realize that you are not alone.
You think about the days to come. You think about the milestones that are forthcoming. You envision his first steps in clear reverie as you wake up even more. You see him crawling down the hall. You think about the days in years to come. You see him playing football, basketball, and softball. You see him graduating from high school and college. You envision the grandchildren that will one day come. You rock the little guy back to sleep after he crosses the finish line with the bottle. As he dozes back off, you doze with him. You are up out of the pit and crossing the finish the line with him.
Welcome to motherhood!

By the same token, though, perhaps too many sentences began with 'you'. Some introductory phrases or rearrangement of words might provide a bit more variety.
Very well done.
