Where warmth envelops you
Coming in from the cold
Bubbling potatoes on the stove
The smell of pumpkin pie
The promise of suet pudding
Aunt Darlene’s macaroni salad
Music around the old piano
The Shadle quartet plus one
In perfect harmony
Old hymns and Christmas carols
Books, journals, stationary from everyone
Crossword puzzles with Grandpa
Sharing gossip with Aunt Darlene
And school projects with Aunt Leona
Unspoken sadness
Unbroken promises
Too many family photos
Not enough time
Laughter and tears
Hidden fears
If only I’d known then
What I know now

Lynn, I just wanted to let you know that you did very well in the Challenge this week. Even though you didn't quite make it into the winners' circle, you made it into the highest rankings for Level 1, placing 13th for the level.

The competition is always quite intense in Level 1, so well done. Keep up the great writing.
