The mistakes I've made
The things that haunt me now
I've looked everywhere for peace of mind.
Move me out of this place of make-believe
I am so tired of pretenses.
I'm drifting away like sand upon the shore
Wash my soul; I can only imagine
What it will be like,
To hope, to dance, to fall upon my knees.
When that day comes and I'm standing in the sun,
face to the sky, looking for you,
The darkness will fade like a bad memory but
my life will appear as a charade.
All that I have and hold on too,
I lift up in gratitude.
I surrender and lay it down to you, I let go.
To think that I could fight on my own
When I reached the point of giving in;
I looked to the heavens and was set free;
All I could give and then I lived.
I want to sing, fly and love.
When you say every moment of everyday
That we will never be broken
It calms my endless fears
Steady and strong you gently lift me
I see your goodness and it rises up in me
My eyes reach up and touch the sky,
the day has come to give my life away.
Every dream reaches out to where love begins, to see truth,
light the dark, open my heart with wings to soar.
When I fall
Will you catch me
When I weep
Will you weep with me
When I cry
Will you catch my tears
When I'm afraid like a child
Will you rescue me
When I'm happy
Will you share my joy
Will you be there for me like the truth?
