Hiding behind a mask of shame and embarrassment, Candy allowed herself to be withdrawn from the world. “I feel like I’m on the outside looking in, seeking to be found, she thought,” after which she slowly removed herself from the window, and crept into bed. What Candy didn’t realize was that she didn’t have to bear the burden alone.
In her dreams that night she heard a voice that said, “Take my hand, my child, take it, don’t ever let go. I have loved you with an everlasting love, come let me show you the way, I will lead you to paths unknown to anyone. Your deepest needs I have seen, and I will quench that desire, that you have so longed for. You too will rise higher. You’ll soar like the eagles on high. Never feeling that shame again. Embrace this moment, it is yours to have and to hold.”
As gently and suddenly the sun rose, it rays lightly touching her skin, Candy awoke, removing the blankets, she returned to the window pane. Smiling as she saw the sun, she knew that the season was over, and that a new one had begun. With eyes up to the mountain top, looking to the heavens, she remembered her father’s voice. “Take my hand I will see you through, my help I give it all to you.
