Previous Challenge Entry (Level 1 – Beginner)
Topic: Bridge (07/31/08)
Didn’t matter how I cut it, I could not figure out how to make that song work. I had a great hook; had an even better refrain but when it came time to tie them together, there was a whole lot of nothing going on. I toyed with the melody. I rearranged harmonies. Nothing sounded the way I heard it in my head. I could not leave this clever piece of music in boring verse/refrain/verse/refrain form. It really needed a transition that would wow every ear that heard it. It needed something brief but intense that would finish the composition. I needed to step back a bit so I found my way to the fridge for a bite. As I stood at the counter eating some green olives and a slice of cheese, the chimes on the front stoop rang a brief melody. The notes were perfect. I raced back to my keyboard and recorded it before it slipped from memory. Once I put it together, that bridge was the heart of my song.

Could you write this in verses?
It would fill your space and support the musical aspect.
