The one I find most amusing is the person who talks very loudly making it easy for everyone else to hear his or her conversation. It never ceases to amaze me how attached some people are to their phones.
As you have probably guessed, I am not a phone person. I use phones steadily during my workday so I am happy to leave them behind at 5 o’clock.
I do own one but quite honestly it’s seldom used and I try to keep it that way. Personal time spent on the phone for me is very minimal.
Telephones are very necessary in today’s world. However, they can also run peoples’ lives to where there isn’t any time left to enjoy God’s blessings.
I have a Scripture picture on my computer and share it with others when given the opportunity. It shows a woman with one hand on her telephone and her other hand pointing towards Heaven. The caption reads in bold letters, “CALL NOW!”
One of my favourite Scriptures follows after the caption, “I call on you, O God, for you will answer me; give ear to me and hear my prayer.” Psalm 17:6 (New International Version)
It’s an awesome thing to call our Lord knowing He gives us His attention and hears us when we call Him. We are drawn closer to Him through prayer and no phones are necessary.
That equals as a double blessing for phone weary people like me!
