And while we were just checking in another would interrupt.
We had traveled very far away and the connection was not so fine.
But in those days you were not alone for it was a party line.
Two or three would share that line and would hear when someone calls.
We would listen for that certain ring which would drive us up the walls.
You wondered if it was for you and if privacy was there.
It was like someone was listening and really did not care.
We were glad when private lines came in as technology had arrived.
It seemed so hard to understand how we ever had survived.
But now those days have passed us by with cell phones on the scene.
We can take them anywhere we go and before we talk we screen.
Even if we have no money a phone we all possess.
It’s the ability to talk to God and with Him to confess.
It’s never busy and always on and He answers all the time.
And the best thing about it is the price; it won’t even cost a dime.
Some would say that Gods not listening for they cannot hear His voice.
But they have chose to mute Him out which clearly is a choice.
They only talk when their in trouble when His help is what they need.
It seems that they won’t take the time of the Holy Scriptures read.
They fail to talk to Him each day where relationship is built.
And then when tragedy comes their way they are overwhelmed with guilt.
They need someone to bail them out of this bind that they are in.
But they forgot the most important thing; they need forgiveness of their sin.
So the question that I ask of you is about your connection going up.
Do you spend some time with God and with Him do you sup?
Do you share with Him each day your life of hopes and fears?
And do you give Him song and praise through a heart of broken tears?
The phone is such a mighty thing for we can communicate with all.
Whether close or far away all we need to do is call.
It goes the same with God above for in Him there is perfection.
All we need to do is say; God help me make “The Connection”.
