Topic: Mother (as in maternal parent) (04/24/08)
"The Lord is my inheritance." Jeremiah 3:24

Mother was poor by this world's standards. She didn't have much money or many material possessions, yet she had riches beyond measure in her deep, abiding faith in God and love for her Savior, Jesus Christ. When she left this earth, she left behind for her children an inheritance worth more than all the wealth of this world. Because of her faith, her children and grandchildren are blessed with faith in Jesus. She served the Lord faithfully all her life, and now I, her daughter, am blessed to watch a fourth generation, her great-grandchildren, also grow to serve the Lord. And when these great-grandchildren are old enough to produce the next generation, I have confidence that they, too, will serve the Lord, for God's promises are true and they can be relied upon.

This gift of faith in Jesus Christ is her legacy. Because of one woman's strong, quiet faith, many others have come into that same faith.

So, thank you, dear Mother. Generations are blessed because of you. I look forward to worshipping the Lord with you for all eternity, hearing you sing, "The Old Rugged Cross," as it's never been sung before, and seeing you crowned with the glory of the Lord.

So beautiful! Isn't it wonderful when one person's faith is passed down through the generations? My own great grandmother was a believer and shared her faith with my grandma and them of course it was passed on to my mom and aunt. Now I have had the pleasure as a daughter to tell my own children about the Lord and I am sure as they get married and have children one day they will "Pass it on." Praise the Lord! Keep on sharing your heart with us through your writing. Loved this! Janice

This was short but really meaty and gave your reader the information they needed most to know about your mother. She sounds like a wonderful lady and she is blessed to have a daughter who rises up and calls her blessed.

This is truly a good tribute to your mother. I liked the verse at the beginning and the hope of singing with her in heaven. Well done.
