Feeling comforted by his prayer, he drifted away into sleep. Awakening only when the nurse came to deliver him dinner. Because of the stroke he had suffered, he could not eat by himself now and required help. He knew that the end was near. His Jesus would not let him suffer much longer now. He eagerly anticipated the moment when he would be with his Lord in heaven. He only worried about one thing: Her. She was always on his mind and he was constantly praying for her. For years, all through her childhood, he had told her of his Lord. She had always gone to church with him when he offered but, he supposed, that she only did so to oblige him. He sighed. The nurse was gone and had closed his door behind her, leaving the room dark aside from the flashing of the monitors. He felt a peace about him. Surely it wouldn’t be long now. He felt drowsy from the medicine and fought the urge to drift into sleep again. He had to stay awake. She would come. She always came after her shift at work. To talk and encourage him. Finally, against his wishes, he fell asleep. She would wake him up when she arrived, was his last thought.
“Grandpa?” The words startled him and he awoke, blurry-eyed. “Grandpa, I’m here.”
What was happening? There was light everywhere. He could barely see his granddaughter’s face, the light was so bright. He lifted his arm to shield his eyes. “Grandpa, are you okay?” Her voice sounded worried. He couldn’t see her face anymore for the light. “Grandpa, how can you lift your arm? you haven’t been able to do that for months!”
He was aware of this, also aware that he felt completely well. The light was continuing to become brighter and he knew it was his Lord coming for him. He felt her hand on his shoulder. “Grandpa, I have something to tell you.” He heard this as he felt he was slipping away. Away from the bed and the room and her. He could hardly hear her anymore. “Grandpa, I became a Christian today. I finally believed. I did just what you said.”
He smiled, no longer able to see or hear her, finally satisfied.
She gazed at his still form, tears rolling down her cheeks. She thought of his love and prayers for her.
“I love you Grandpa.” She whispered. She knew she would see him again someday. Because of the love of a Grandpa.

There are a few spelling errors and sentence fragments to edit, and it might be easier on your readers if you hit an extra "enter" between paragraphs.
Lovely ending.
