Ezekiel 36:26 KJV A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
The Lord looks down on Earth and sees our souls. He doesn’t see our plastic smiles or our sneers or any façade. He sees the part of us harmed by this world of evil and tragedy …our heart of hearts.
In each of our heart of hearts is a baby needing a mom with a tender touch or a two-year old needing a hug from daddy. In our heart of hearts we’re hungry for real, strong, gentle love. We’re hungry to be real, strong and gentle. The problem with all this is that we’re harmed. Whether it’s by our own choices or an uncle or a girlfriend, we can’t be who we long to be and we can’t receive the love we need.
This is where those who love Jesus come in. We need to see into the heart of that cruel teenage boy. We need to see into the heart of the mother who slaps her baby way too hard. We need to see into the heart of the waitress for our table.
They are in need of the love Jesus has placed in our heart of hearts. That’s why God invented evangelism. It’s to rescue empty souls. Father, forgive me for those I haven’t told.
