Impenetrable as a force field locking us out
How do we overcome an
Insurmountable obstacle that has
Won another bout
The battle rages on though not a word is spoken
Between the defiant adversaries
That leaves our poor hearts broken
The little child cowers beneath the clashing swords
Tears are streaming from her eyes
I claw my way to the top of the wall
Look over – and plunge back down
I cannot get over...
I cannot get through...
I cannot even get around...
A guardian Angel spreads his wings
To comfort and protect the child
While the warrior Angels attack the foe
I fall to my knees and send up my pleas
That deliverance will soon be at hand
I know it depends on the will of the one
The powers of Darkness defend
God’s Holy Spirit will strive to set free
As long as I stay on my knees
...’til weary from strident sorrow and strife
The defiant one cries for her life
In the instant she utters the longing for help
The Enemy suffers a fatal blow
The invisible barrier crumbles
And disintegrates like the
Implosion of a useless shell
The wicked one dissolves in his cause,
A powerless puddle like
The witch in the Wizard of Oz
The blinded one awakes as from a terrible dream
The Darkness gives way to Light
We rush to each other with
Forgiveness and Love
The child’s smile is bright,
Her eyes are filled with delight
The Day has overcome Night
Our praises we bring ... to Jesus our King!
