I decided I would go to the near-by mall. I stopped and looked through the windows of displays. I reached the last store of the mall and walked in and found rows of tubes of paints, artist’s brushes and a wall of different sizes of canvas. A young man behind the counter smiled and said, “Welcome to Artist Heaven, My name is Michael.”
He then reached behind the counter, lifted a large bag and passed it to me. I peeked inside the bag, there were tubes of paint, a palette, brushes and a large white canvas sheet. Then Michael said, “This is for you.” I spoke up,
“I can’t draw and surely I cannot paint!” But I said, “Thank you,” and left the store.
I walked home with my art supplies, and I took them to the sun room. I carefully set up the easel and canvas. I reached into the large bag and placed tubes of paint and also the brushes neatly in rows. Then I sat there to look at the blank, white canvas. I began to wonder why the stranger in the store gave me the art supplies. Tears began to run down my face and I said again, “Where are you God?” I decided to go to bed early.
Early the next morning I stumbled into the sun room. I picked up a wet paint-brush, the palette was also covered with wet colors of paint.
I stood back and looked at the canvas, and there before my eyes was a beautiful painting of Jesus. In the corner signed “Love God.”
I whispered, “Father God forgive me. You were with me all the time.” I looked at the picture of Jesus- God was the artist. I took the beautiful portrait and ran back to the art supply store.
Out of breath, I reached the store, but the window was dark and empty. I peaked through the window and felt sad. Then I heard a voice, turned around, it was Michael. I said, “The art store is gone!”
He smiled and replied, “God opened the art store just for you. So I could give you the art supplies.” I held up the canvas and showed him the beautiful painting of Jesus that was signed “Love God.”
Michael smiled and said, “I am your Guardian Angel. My son, you are not alone. When you feel sad and alone, look at the beautiful portrait of Jesus.” I looked at the painting and smiled. I turned around and the angel was gone.
I walked home and hung the beautiful painting of Jesus on the wall. God had answered my cry and had painted a beautiful portrait of Jesus- His Beloved Son!

Great job protraying how God cares for us in the little things. We don't usually get a glimpse at what is there "just for us". Keep up the good work.
