Topic: Cooking or Baking (01/04/07)
"Your twenty nine now and you've been eating day in and day out at fast food joints since high school, it's time you start cooking healthy food for yourself." I know she's right, but i don't have the time or patience to cook. "Ok mom I'll try and run by the store and pick some stuff up." I can tell she knew I wasn't being serious and she's heard that same line before. It takes time to cook you have to be patient and it doesn't taste as good, I reasoned. Her words kept bugging me, I'm just a single guy who doesn't cook, once I get married my wife will cook.

All this thought about cooking has made me hungry, it's time for "Lardo Burgers." Now lets see here, I'll drop this video off at the video store and then off to "Lardos." As I walk into the video store a new release poster catches my eye, it had a mans face on it with french fries stuffed in his mouth. As I'm dropping off the video I can hear the ladies behind the counter having a conversation about that movie, I only caught a few statements like "it was a true story, after he did it he had health problems,and it was a real eye opener." That movie is not for me. Now it's time for "Lardos."

"Jerk!" That white truck just ran a red light and almost hit me. I turned my head to try and catch his plates but the words on the back of his truck caught my eye, "Cooking for a healthier lifestyle." Now my mind is racing. "Lord are you trying to tell me something?" I don't always eat unhealthy, I get chicken sometimes and just two weeks ago I ate a home cooked meal, my flesh kicks my mind into reason. Soon enough my mind was back on "Lardos." There it is, "Lardos," I'm going to go inside to relax and enjoy my meal. There is usually not this many people here. My mind is on the large chocolate milkshake, double cheese burger and power sized fries that I'm going to order, but my ears are strangely in tune to the conversation a couple is having in front of me. "This was the same day it happened ten years ago, right?" The husband questioned the wife. "Yes it is, I'm surprised you still remember, I wrote that article seven years ago, do you remember his name?" The wife responded. "Of course I do I remember everything about that article, his name was Kevin O'Riley, he was twenty-nine, he ordered a large chocolate milkshake, double cheese burger and power sized fries and he died about three bites in." My hands are sweating, I can hardly breath, I can feel my face getting white, I feel like I can't move. I manage to make it outside. "God thanks for the wake up call." That's my name Kevin O' Riley.

Interesting story with a good message about our food choices! It could use some proofreading to catch punctuation and sentence structure errors, but I enjoyed reading it and smiled at the surprising ending! :)

Great idea. I had to chuckle at the end. You do need to work on formatting and do some clean up. Good job and good work.
