I grew up in a relatively small town on Lake Erie. The only thing "big" about it was the amusement park that opened between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
I met my husband at that particular park when I was only sixteen years old. We have now been married for 37 years, and our children are 36 and 33.
I loved to read from the time I was in kindergarten, and began writing poetry and short stories at age 7. Unfortunately, although the teachers liked my writings and gave me good grades, I did not receive any encouragement at home.
After I became a Christian, I started writing about the joy I had found in having a Savior. But, having no outlet for them, they just took up space in shoe boxes and ended up in the attic.
Finally, the past several years have yielded poems, articles, and short skits that have been used in our local community church. One devotional and three poems have been published. My husband and friends are quite appreciative of my efforts, and at last I have someone who gives me credit for originality.
I have a desire to glorify the Lord with everything I write, whether a letter to a friend, my journal, or poetry.
I hope that any of you who may read this will appreciate my efforts, and feel free to critique my writings.
