When we come to the conclusion of one project, and if we have an enquiring mind, then we will probably set out on something else. In other words it demonstrates that there is no real end because life is a continuous cycle of events. Like the seasons, summer gives way to the autumn where the plants wither and die off, but then, following the rigours of winter hey presto, the flowers burst forth into glorious life again

Man is a learning, questioning animal, and we miss our true nature if we do not express this side of our being. In every way, by reading, investigation, meditation, and conversation with our fellow beings, we make ourselves open to new ideas, and the opinions and beliefs of others. These contrasting elements are part of the essential variety of life. To keep them all, with each in balance and in proportion is the way to a full, happy, and harmonious life.

Living with a sense of pleasurable anticipation implies being interested in others, and a concern for their welfare. When we are interested only in what is happening to us, then the most trivial setback is magnified out of all proportion, and we become too inward looking. Maintain always the simple sense of wonder and gratitude which comes when we take the old advice to count our blessings and this will be of immeasurable enrichment to our day.

So when the days work is done and night-time comes then welcome it, embrace it, for it is the time to rest with the reassuring knowledge that another wonderful tomorrow is yet to come.
