I’ve been thinking a lot about heaven,
And it’s somewhere I’m longing to be
As I live this life in His service
I have but one goal and purpose..
My Redeemer at last to see.

The best part of heaven is Jesus,
And the Father, who reigns from His throne.
Streets of gold, angel’s chorus,
No pain or death.. sounds glorious..
But it’s Jesus who makes heaven home.

I hear others talk about heaven,
Of the pleasures and peace they foresee,
But if pleasure is their god,
I would find it very odd,
To choose heaven for eternity.

For the best part of heaven is Jesus,
And the Father who reigns from His throne.
Streets of gold, angel’s chorus,
No pain or death.. sounds glorious..
But it’s Jesus who makes heaven home.

I know some who claim all are going,
And I wish will my whole heart it were true.
But in heaven, all freely kneel,
Yielding up heart, mind, and will,
Something the proud cannot do.

And today, if I could travel to heaven,
But Jesus was gone from that place,
I would leave it all behind,
My beloved one to find,
Without Him, Eden is but barren waste.
