THE LIST
Consider the list: God is spirit, God is Life, He is infinite, immutable, eternal, truth, love, omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent, self-existent, and holy. The list fits in a corner of one sheet of paper, but it tries to describe what is so vast and so great that no human mind can comprehend it. Has God always existed? Yes, but what is always? Is God omnipresent? Yes, but in trillions of places at once? What do we have in common with someone who can’t be understood, seen, touched, or measured? How can we hope to approach a throne of infinite power and majesty?
Consider the list: love. If He is a God of love, would He make a race of beings which feels lost in the cosmos, whose importance is so little that it rounds to zero, whose mistakes doom it to extinction? The answer reveals itself in a God who meticulously prepared a world for us, who steers the course of history, and whose only Son proved the truth of every item on the list.
