Creation
Before the creation of all things, there was God. Before space, before time, and before matter and energy, there was God. Where was God before creation? What did He do ‘all day’? No person knows. Are there other creations or universes He tends to? No person knows. What we know is that He is OUR God and He created the heavens and earth for US. What an honor – it’s His first act of grace. He didn’t have to create us, but in love He did so anyway.
No matter how long ago you think creation started, God’s Big Bang flung matter and energy through the vast cosmos. At the same time, He decreed that there would be some organizing principles which we later called laws of physics. Atoms, molecules, plants and animals, planets, and galaxies show His attention to organization in the tiniest and the greatest of things. Our discovery of these riches began in Genesis 1:27 when Adam and Eve first opened their eyes to see the Garden, and continues to this day in laboratories, schools, nurseries, mountain tops, back yards, and living rooms.
Want to meet the author of all of the above? Introducing Jesus Christ, the Son of God. “All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.” (John 1:3) What could possibly hold us back from thanking Him daily for His glorious creation? Absolutely nothing at all.
