THE BABY

Surely there is no greater distress than to see a baby who is very sick. The baby cries in pain and doesn’t know what’s wrong, only that it hurts. The baby doesn’t know that the treatment being applied, although sometimes painful for a time, is only intended to soothe and heal. The baby doesn’t know how deeply the parents love him and how far they would go to bring him back to health. Adults have trials, crises, and illnesses and sometimes don’t know what’s wrong, only that it hurts. They often don’t recognize that as God applies the treatment, there can be pain for a time, but He only wants to soothe and heal. It’s easy to forget how deeply God loves us and how far He would go to bring us back. This great God calls out “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will heal you.”
