THE GIFT
He walked the streets looking for trouble. He had gifts to hand out and it didn’t seem to matter who you were – he just wanted you take the gift. He tried to befriend all those around him, and to each one he offered the gift. Some ignored him or turned it down, because they didn’t believe it was of any value. Some accepted it, put it away, and forgot it. Others received it joyfully and treated it as the best gift that could ever be given. A few even thanked him, again and again. They put their friends in touch with him so they too could receive the gift. The gift wasn’t wrapped in fancy paper, and it wasn’t in a box. You couldn’t hold it up to marvel at it. It was highly personalized and couldn’t be passed on to another. Most would not be able to use it today or even this year. When the time comes, they’ll know that the gift is priceless, and they’ll be able to thank the Giver, endlessly.
