Just a Thought

Ever have trouble keeping on track?
When there are so many things to do.
Ever think your brain would crack
Before your day was through

We try so hard to get things done
Then we find there is only more
Sit down - make your plans my son
No wait there’s someone at the door

The door of which I now do speak
Is the door within your, mind
With hinges that are growing weak
For thoughts this door did find

Thoughts knock upon this battered door
They come both day and night
They insist on entrance more and more
Each bringing some kind of light

Thoughts come to us in many a way
Especially what we hear
T.V., radio, or phone each day
Bring thoughts of joy or fear

We can block many a thought
Stop them from coming round
Just by turning the T.V. off
Let the phone make no sound

Be careful of what you let come in
As Jesus said we ought
Follow his rules and you will win
Oh yes, it’s just a thought
